GDPR with Annabel Kaye of KoffeeKlatch

What does GDPR mean for Marketing and Networking Activities

Annabel Kaye will be joining the First Thursday Club on 5th April 2018 to talk about how GDPR will affect the marketing and networking activities of businesses after 25th May 2018.

GDPR was introduced in 2016 and affects all businesses within the EU, there has been a 2 year period of grace, which expires in May 2018.  There is much misinformation relating to GDPR, and Brexit and that it won’t apply to small businesses.

GDPR will be applicable after Brexit, and there is no exemption for small businesses.

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) will affect all businesses and how they obtain, use and retain data relating to individuals.  Individuals can be employees, suppliers, clients, in fact, any identifiable person that you deal with in your day to day business activities.

Marketing and Networking activities will be greatly affected.  For example, what are you allowed to do with all those business cards you collect whilst networking or attending those business shows.

If you are exhibiting at a business exhibition, what do you need to do to ensure that all the information you collect is usable?  How can you easily collect contact details that are compliant and therefore usable once you return to your office?

Annabel will be talking to us to explain how we can continue to market our businesses and network and remain compliant with GDPR.

This event will start at the slightly earlier time of 11.30am to give everyone attending plenty of time to network; and will take place downstairs in Belgo Bar & Restaurant, Nottingham.

Lunch will be served at 12:30pm, with a business card raffle and presentation taking place at 1.00pm followed by Annabel.

Tickets are now on sale and cost just £10.00 for Club Members and £25.00 for Non-Club Members.
